Holidays 2005
As usual, these events may be posted out of order, but I'm pretty sure all these things happened in November or December. We had an awful lot of parties, for a variety of reasons and some for no reason at all.
In November, Alyson threw a party to celebrate V6's 10th anniversary since their debut. We had fans accounted for everyone but Okada, since poor Megan was sick, and we even wore color-coded party hats: pink for Kamisen and gold for Tonisen. Emm (Go) and Al (Hiroshi) and I (Maa-kun) decorated her apartment and made a lovely cake, and then were joined for the party proper by Jamie (Inocchi) and Eri (Ken). Highlights:
-GIRAFFE HAT! (Kirin koweee!)
-V6 board game, which Al lost, so she had to do a batz-game, involving writing her name in the air with her rear
-tacos and cake!
And Emm's pics from the V6 party!:
Here are pictures from three different nabe parties: two at my apartment (we made shabu-shabu at one and kimchee nabe at the other), and one at Shinpei's friend Keiji's place. Shabu-shabu is by far and away my favorite winter food in Japan, and one my favorite foods PERIOD. Pictured here are Wakana, Eriko, Emm, Alyson, Kabir, me (in an amazing batch of SERIOUSLY unflattering photos, ouch), Keiji, Shinpei, and David.
And Emm's photos from the same parties:
Next is Thanksgiving!! I invited a bunch of my American friends over to celebrate with a big potluck, like last year but with a bigger turnout. Present were Kabir, Adam, Alyson, Emmalee, Chanaw, Vanessa, Becky, and me. We put together quite a feast! The first three photos here are mine; the rest are Emm's.
I was actually back in the States for Christmas, but here are some Christmas-y things I did in Japan beforehand. First we've got Emm posing with the Colonel in his festive garb. Next is Alyson's amazing KanJani8 tree! These are all from Emm's camera.
Then it was concert time! We always go all out to dress up for concerts, so this time we went with Santa suits. Alyson even made pins of the V6 logo with felt! We posed with the Kan8 tree (because we went to see them later in the same outfits, but with 8-kun pins instead of V6), with our uchiwa (hers is for Hiroshi; mine is for Maa-kun), and on the train ride to the show. At the show, one of the members, Inocchi, saw us and threw us a signboard which hit me in the face! Here are some pictures of that. Last is a picture of the uchiwa I made for Subaru for the KanJani8 concert a few days later.
