My apartment
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at my apartment for the first time; it's spacious and
comfy! Granted, the utilities are old a little inconvenient, and there are lots of mosquitos even
in November that no amount of closing the windows will keep out, but in general I really like my
apartment. I've taken a few pictures of it, and hope to update with more later.
Here's my front door, and immediately inside is a kinda useless front room that I never use.
The kitchen is straight ahead of that, with the bathroom to the right of it. My bedroom is to the
left when you come in the door, and the living room is kitty-corner, between the bedroom and the
kitchen. On the inside of my front door, I've posted a little sign, so Miyake Ken can help me
remember to turn off my utilities.
Here's the useless but large front room:
This is my bedroom. I still have quite a few posters I haven't put on my walls yet.
Here's the bathroom, which has a drain in the middle for the shower, bathtub (it's just a big
plastic tub with a hole in the bottom, so when you unplug it, the water runs out into the room,
and even the washing machines has a hose that I have to put in the bathroom when I do laundry,
so it spits out all the washing water to drain in the same place.
Here's the kitchen. Unfortunately I have no oven, but that seems to basically be the norm here.
I have a stove and a kind of microwave oven thing. The contraption on the wall by the sink is the
water heater; I turn a knob and then hit a few buttons to turn on the gas everytime I want hot water.
I also have to turn on the gas separately for the stove. The washing machine is in the kitchen right
next to the bathroom door, so I can put the hose in the bathroom. I'm glad I have an almost full-sized
fridge though! That seems kinda rare, actually.
A bunch of evil stray cats live near and on the apartment. Here's one of them. He only has
one eye.
