Okayama
In early September, I went on a weekend trip to Okayama with my Japanese friends, Wakana, Kenta, and Eriko! The little town we went to likes to claim that it's home to Japan's Aegean. It was incredibly hot that weekend, and a few things went wrong, but we really had a good time. I just enjoy my friends' company. Here we are right after getting off the bus.
This is at a little local town museum. They have floats and robes for their festivals.
It's hard to go anywhere without finding a temple or two, so we checked this one out.
This is supposedly an olive orchard, although apparently most of the olives were destroyed in a typhoon earlier that year. I think they're trying a little hard to be Greece, and I'm not quite sure why, but it was a cute town. We climbed up a little lookout tower to get a better view.
We spent the night at a pension along with a French dinner. Here we are with our food.
The next day, we went to a really cool little onsen on the way home! Of course I couldn't take pictures of the onsen itself (taking pictures of naked strangers is probably a good way to get arrested), but here we are in the adjoining building for lunch and then getting ready to go.
